wollongong gallery zine fair.

Firstly, I'd like begin with a shout'out to my friends' Natalie, + Maddy for organizing the zine fair. It's has become an annual event (this year being the second), with lots people leaving the gallery several hundred grams heavier, holding paper stacks under their arms and wide smiles on their faces. Highlights of the day for me were; watching people eat my coca-cola cupcakes, receiving lots of letters via the table to table postal service (which was such a clever idea! - so much fun!) the bakery (those vegan custard danishes' were ten-times yum!), seeing the variety in the zine styles which were each quite distinctive, Annas' interview cubby (which you can see in the 8th photograph), all the mums' that brought their children (especially the lovely lady with the blonde hair that brought bodies' + my zine), anyone who wrote Bodie + me a letter on our typewriters for our typewritten letters zine, making badges with Maddys' + Andys' badgemaker (thankyou!), finally finding out what BFF is an acronym for (best friends forever!) and listening to the Effing Seas, and Mother and Son play at the end (what a nice end to the day). I haven't had the chance to go through all of the typewritten letters that we received as yet (university assignments- gah!), but I am looking forward to spending an afternoon reading them with a pot of monk pear tea.

There is one coming up at the MCA, which is in sydney, it's on a sunday, like soon. You should go.

A zine is easy to make, it's just like a blog, only on paper, with cut/paste, and then photocopying! which is fun! You can't write one on whatever you like, they aren't any rules!
