Bodie + I are escaping down to Melbourne for this weekend. I'm not anticipating the flight, although it is only short, I dread flying because my ears are highly sensitive, and the pressure feels as though someone has a tiny vacuum in my ear sucking any remnants of oxygen from my ear drum leaving a sharp pain running quickly down my neck, and back up to my eardrum. I might be prepared for once and bring ear plugs. I'm excited to re-visit some of my favorite shops, eat some amazing food, and to go to the wine show Bodies' mum has purchased us tickets to. I thought i'd outline a short itinerary of the must stops, and must sees for my weekend. Although as uninteresting as it must be to be reading this, it's more of a reference point for me, as anyone whom knows of me is aware that my memory isn't that of my age, rather a 60 year old womyn with accelerating deterioration in memory and thought processes.
+ Buy a new skateboard
+ Go to Sticky (an amazing zine shop located in Flinders lane)
+ Eat at least one meal from Chinatown (we could eat all our meals there, so yummy).
+ Return/find the noodle bar we magically found when were lost during our last visit
+ Buy lots of pairs of shoes, particularly I am looking for a patent pair of boots that lace up and have a heel that would put any hooker to shame.
+ Get hightops, bby (yes I know this is breaking any ideological ground I have, but fuck they are so so so . . . .cool.)
+ Buy fresh blueberry bagels from the queen victoria markets, the produce there is so fresh, and it's quite funny to walk amongst the stalls and watch the competitive nature of the different stall holders. Last time Bodie and I were there we witnessed a guy throw an orange at another stall holder, we walked away in fits of laughter.
+ Take advantage of the cafe licensing and drink champagne at breakfast.
+ Buy a fish eye lomo (I know I could just buy the attachment for my Holga, but I want a 35'film camera).
+ Take a stroll through the National Gallery of Victoria.
+ Eat a belgian chocolate and marcarpone pizza from Bimbos (Emilys' suggestion).
+ Travel by plane, train, bus, and tram - all the one day (for no other purpose than to have done so) Oh, and a boat!
+ Take lots of photos of the street graph, particularly works by haha! (and, yes we will be visiting Banksys' piece to see if it is still up).
+ Buy lots of different teas from the chinese tea emporium.
+ Hold hands with my love and stroll down Brunswick St.
+ Buy Indie either baby hightops, vans or converse for her birthday.
+ Shop up a storm at Bodies' + my favorite vintage shop Retrostar!

Ah, I like to goto Melbourne at least every 6 months. When I finish uni sometime in my future I want to live there. The kids are so much cooler than Sydney, and the music scene is mint.
